Thailand-Cambodia: Hostilities Continue Despite Trump's Proposal

Despite calls for a ceasefire from U.S. President Donald Trump, artillery fire has been reported on the Thailand-Cambodia border. Journalists from Agence France-Presse (AFP) in Samrong, Cambodia, recorded artillery fire early in the morning.

A spokesman for the Cambodian Ministry of Defense claimed that Thai armed forces launched an attack at 04:50 (local time) near disputed places of worship.

Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet welcomed Trump's proposal and tasked Foreign Minister Prak Sokhonn to discuss ending the conflict with Marco Rubio.
