T/C leader Ersin Tatar, in statements from London, denounced "serious injustices" by the UK against Turkish Cypriots and reiterated the request for direct flights from the United Kingdom to the illegal Tymbou airport.

According to statements to the Turkish news agency Anadolu and TRT, Tatar stated that the British military bases in Cyprus strengthen relations with the G/Cs, mentioning that Christodoulides met with the British Prime Minister three times in the last year.

Tatar claimed that there are "major injustices that the UK has done to us", such as the lack of direct flights and trade to the "TRNC". He met with the British Minister for Europe and North America, Stephen Doughty, and expressed the expectation for the lifting of the isolation of Turkish Cypriots.

Tatar claimed that the presence of British bases makes southern Cyprus a target for Israelis and that many Israelis have settled in Larnaca and Limassol. He also mentioned that 30,000 Britons live in the occupied territories.

Tatar emphasized that if the sovereignty of the Turkish Cypriots is accepted, there can be a new negotiation process. He reiterated the need for direct flights from the UK, arguing that there is no security problem. He also mentioned that he held secret meetings in Britain due to possible reactions.
