Modi and Putin Discuss Ukraine and Trade in Phone Call

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi held a telephone conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin, thanking him for providing updates on the situation in Ukraine. The call occurred days after the US announced additional 25% tariffs on Indian goods, penalizing New Delhi for purchasing Russian oil.
Modi invited Putin to New Delhi for the 23rd Annual India-Russia Summit. The Indian Ministry of External Affairs reaffirmed both countries' commitment to deepening their strategic partnership.
Additionally, Modi spoke with Brazilian President Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva, discussing trade issues, including the tariffs imposed by the US.
The Kremlin announced that Putin and Modi also discussed the visit of US President Donald Trump's envoy, Steve Witkoff, to Moscow.
