Turkish Cypriot Press: Erhürman Awaits Invitation from Ankara

Turkish Cypriot leader, Tufan Erhürman, has not yet received an official invitation from Ankara to visit Turkey, according to the Turkish Cypriot Press.

A report in «Bugün Kıbrıs» states that this delay is causing concern, as Erhürman is pursuing diplomatic contacts. It is estimated that Recep Tayyip Erdoğan may be delaying the invitation due to possible reactions from Devlet Bahçeli of the MHP, who disagrees with a federal solution.

In a recent speech, Erdoğan referred to Cyprus, stressing that Turkey will not leave Turkish Cypriots alone in their struggle for a two-state solution.
