Pakistan Creates New Missile Force After Clash with India

Pakistan will establish a new military force to oversee its missile capabilities, according to Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, following a major clash with India. The new Missile Forces Command will be equipped with modern technology and capable of engaging the enemy from all directions.
The announcement was made during an Independence Day ceremony in Islamabad, where Sharif emphasized that the clash with India in May dominated discussions. The conflict, which lasted four days, resulted in the deaths of over 70 people on both sides, with the use of missiles, drones, and artillery.
Pakistan already possesses advanced missile capabilities and is further strengthening its military forces by increasing defense spending by 20% in the current budget. Additionally, the government is in talks to acquire 40 new Chinese fighter jets and air defense systems.
The May clash was triggered by an attack on tourists in Kashmir, for which India blamed Pakistan, which denied the accusation. Kashmir remains divided between India and Pakistan since 1947, with both countries claiming full sovereignty over the region.
