Turkey Denies Annoyance Over Lebanon-Cyprus Agreement

Sources from the Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs deny reports claiming Ankara is annoyed by the signing of a maritime zone delimitation agreement between Lebanon and Cyprus. The agreement was made without prior consultation with Turkey and Damascus.
The issue arose after a report by the Lebanese newspaper Al Akhbar, which stated that the agreement caused diplomatic tension in Turkey-Lebanon relations. However, sources from the Turkish MFA, responding to a question from the ANKA agency, stated that these claims "do not correspond to reality."
According to the same sources, there is no official annoyance or diplomatic crisis associated with the specific agreement, completely rejecting claims of Ankara's dissatisfaction. Developments in the Eastern Mediterranean are being monitored within the framework of Turkey's standing positions, without confirming tension scenarios broadcast by Lebanese media.
