Turkey: 'S-400s are in our inventory'

Sources from the Turkish Ministry of Defense stated that the Russian S-400 air defense system is in the inventory of the Turkish Armed Forces and there is no change to this.

During the regular weekly briefing for defense correspondents, Turkish sources stated that the S-400 air defense systems are in their inventory and there is no change in their position.

Journalistic reports indicated that Russia approached Turkey with a proposal to repurchase the S-400s for $2.5 billion.

Due to the procurement of the Russian S-400s, Washington removed Turkey from the F-35 fighter program, implementing sanctions under the American CAATSA law. Ankara is seeking its return to the F-35 program or the return of the money ($1.45 billion) it paid.
