Turkish media outlets are reporting on the potential reopening of the Halki Seminary, with varying approaches. Some publications, such as Milli Gazete, express a critical stance towards the statements of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew regarding the matter.

Milli Gazete connects the issue with geopolitical motives and references by the Greek Foreign Minister regarding Greek territorial waters. It also argues that the reopening of the Seminary is unnecessary due to the shrinking Greek population in Turkey.

Other media, such as the local Princes' Islands newspaper Ada Gazetesi and Karadeniz Gazetesi, present the Patriarch's statements in a more neutral tone, referring to his positive assessments regarding the Seminary's reopening and the ongoing restoration work.

Patriarch Bartholomew has expressed hope that the Seminary will be able to accept students again after 55 years, emphasizing the interest shown by the US President.
