Trump threatened that Iran would "disappear from the face of the Earth" if it attacked American ships. The US denied reports of Iranian missiles hitting an American frigate.
The US military claimed to have sunk Iranian ships that were obstructing navigation, while Iran denounced an American attack on civilian vessels, resulting in 5 deaths, according to Iranian media.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi stressed the need for a political solution and the continuation of talks mediated by Pakistan.
Gulf countries condemned the attack on an oil facility in the UAE, attributed to Iran. Meanwhile, the Israeli army continues operations in Lebanon and is on alert for Iran.
