Trump-Modi: India to Halt Russian Oil Purchases

According to a statement by Donald Trump, India will stop buying Russian oil and increase purchases from the United States, possibly also from Venezuela. The agreement was reached after a telephone conversation between Trump and Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Trump also stated that the US will reduce tariffs for India from 25% to 18%. India has committed to increasing purchases of technology and agricultural products from the US.

Trump described Modi as "one of my greatest friends and a Powerful and Respected Leader of his Country." The two leaders also discussed ending the war between Russia and Ukraine.
