In Helsinki in July 2018, Trump sparked controversy by stating that he believed Putin regarding Russian involvement in the elections.

In Paris in November 2018, on the sidelines of the events for World War I, there was no substantial meeting.

In Buenos Aires in November 2018, a scheduled meeting was canceled again by Trump due to the seizure of Ukrainian ships by Russia.
