Trump: Tanker Escort to Start Soon in Strait of Hormuz

The U.S. military will "very soon" begin escorting oil tankers in the Strait of Hormuz, a strategically important passage through which 20% of the world's oil and liquefied natural gas passes, according to President Trump.

Tehran has effectively closed the Strait in order to harm the global economy and put pressure on Washington.
