Geoffrey Hinton: Killer Robots Will Increase Wars

Geoffrey Hinton, known as the 'godfather of Artificial Intelligence,' warns that the use of killer robots will increase the likelihood of wars by reducing the human and political cost of conflicts.

In an interview, Hinton stated that lethal autonomous weapons are an advantage for wealthy countries wishing to invade poor countries, as they reduce the loss of human lives.

Hinton emphasized that Artificial Intelligence is already transforming the battlefield, with low-cost drones capable of destroying expensive tanks. He believes that fighter jets with humans are now obsolete.

Ukraine is developing AI-powered drones, while Russia is testing land-based drones. Russian Defense Minister Andrei Belousov reported that several hundred land-based robotic systems have been developed.
