EU High Representative: Khamenei's Death a Defining Moment for Iran

The High Representative of the European Union for Foreign Affairs, Kaja Kallas, has described the death of Iran's Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, during strikes by the United States and Israel, as a defining moment in Iran's history.

In a post on the X platform, Ms. Kallas described what will follow in Iran as uncertain. However, she added that the way is now open for a different Iran, in which its people could have greater freedom to shape their future.

At the same time, the High Representative of the European Union stated that she is in contact with international partners, including countries in the region, with the aim of finding practical steps to de-escalate tensions.
