US-exit: US Withdraws from 66 International Organizations

The United States has withdrawn from 66 international organizations, many of which are linked to the UN, according to an announcement. This decision marks a significant shift in US foreign policy.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres expressed regret over the US decision. Washington traditionally contributes the largest amounts to the UN's regular budget.
Since Donald Trump took office, the US has also cut off cooperation with the UN Human Rights Council, withdrawn from UNESCO, frozen funding for UNRWA, and announced plans to withdraw from the World Health Organization and the Paris Agreement.
The reasons cited by Washington for these actions are that these organizations focus on climate, gender, health and labor issues, areas that Donald Trump considers part of the liberal agenda. The White House announced that these organizations operate "contrary to US national interests."
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio said these institutions are "duplicative, mismanaged, redundant, wasteful, poorly functioning, captive to interests that advance their own agendas contrary to ours, or a threat to our national sovereignty."
Experts argue that the US withdrawal could undermine the effectiveness of these organizations, reduce Washington's influence on the international stage, and harm millions of people who depend on them for support.
