Venezuela: Delsy RodrĂguez Sworn in as President

Venezuelan Vice President and Minister of Petroleum, Delsy RodrĂguez, has officially assumed the duties of interim president, while Nicolás Maduro appeared in a New York court on drug trafficking charges.
RodrĂguez was sworn in by her brother, Jorge, the president of the National Assembly. First Lady Cilia Flores, who was arrested along with Maduro, was absent from the first session of the National Assembly.
The opposition, led by MarĂa Corina Machado, boycotted the process. Maduro stated in court that he is a 'prisoner of war' and the president of Venezuela.
