Venezuela: Strong Explosions Heard in Caracas After Trump's Threats

Strong explosions and noises were heard in Caracas around 02:00 (local time), according to a journalist from the French Agency. Eyewitnesses told Reuters about loud bangs and a power outage in a southern area near a military base, with a visible column of smoke.
Explosion sounds continued to be heard around 02:15 (08:15 Cyprus time). US President Donald Trump has deployed a fleet of warships in the Caribbean and has mentioned the possibility of ground strikes against Venezuela, stating that Nicolás Maduro's days are 'numbered'.
