Venezuela: US to Buy Oil at International Prices, Says PDVSA

Venezuela's state oil company, PDVSA, has announced that negotiations are underway with the US regarding the sale of oil. However, it clarified that the terms being discussed are similar to those in place with companies like Chevron.

The announcement follows statements by the US President that Venezuela will deliver 30-50 million barrels of oil to the US, which are subject to sanctions and will be sold at market prices.

A board member of PDVSA told Reuters that the US should buy the oil at international prices, stressing that Venezuela owes nothing to the United States.

Earlier, White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt stated that Venezuelan oil would reach the US "very soon" and that there is a long-term plan for US actions in Venezuela.
