North Korea Launches Ballistic Missile Towards East

North Korea has launched a ballistic missile of an "unknown type" towards the east, according to the South Korean Joint Chiefs of Staff. The launch took place on Wednesday.
The last launch of short-range ballistic missiles and cruise missiles by North Korea was on May 8 and 22, respectively.
This action marks the first missile launch since South Korean President Lee Jae-myung took office in June. Additionally, it occurs before the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit in South Korea.
Pyongyang recently unveiled its new intercontinental ballistic missile, Hwasong-20, during a military parade.
