Haritsis: Impose Sanctions on Israel Regarding Gaza Situation
Share on:

The president of New Left, Alexis Haritsis, called for sanctions to be imposed on Israel, describing it as the only response to the "disappearance of Gaza." He launched an attack on the ND government, accusing it of hypocrisy regarding the two-state solution.

Mr. Haritsis stated that Israel's military operation "blows up any prospect of peace and any sense of international law." He also criticized Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis and ministers Gerapetritis and Dendias for their silence regarding the new phase of Israeli aggression.

Mr. Haritsis called for the immediate cessation of military cooperation with Israel, an import embargo, a freeze on the issuance of new Golden Visa permits to Israeli citizens, pressure to suspend trade cooperation between the EU and Israel, and a cessation of Israel's participation in sports and cultural events.

Ahead of the UN Summit, Alexis Haritsis stressed that Greece should recognize the Palestinian state and propose the imposition of sanctions on Israel. He also called for the immediate briefing of Parliament by the Prime Minister and the Minister of Foreign Affairs.
