Christodoulides and Macron Sign Strategic Partnership Agreement

The President of the Republic of Cyprus, Nikos Christodoulides, met today with French President Emmanuel Macron in Paris, where they signed a Strategic Partnership Agreement.
The agreement focuses on strengthening cooperation in the areas of defense, economy, and European coordination. According to Government Spokesperson Konstantinos Letymbiotis, the two leaders also discussed the priorities of the Cypriot Presidency of the EU Council for 2026.
The agreement aims to upgrade bilateral relations through a more structured framework of cooperation, particularly in the areas of defense, economy, culture, innovation, and education. The Minister of Foreign Affairs Konstantinos Kombos and the Deputy Minister of European Affairs Marilena Raouna also participated in the meeting.
