Zelenskyy Rejects Territorial Concessions, Seeks 'Real Peace'

Ahead of his meeting with Donald Trump in the US, Volodymyr Zelenskyy has rejected territorial concessions as part of a ceasefire agreement with Russia. Zelenskyy emphasized that all important issues for Ukraine must be discussed with Ukraine's participation.
According to the Financial Times, Donald Trump suggested that Vladimir Putin might agree to freeze the war front if Kyiv withdraws from Donetsk and Luhansk. Zelenskyy has already ruled out this possibility.
Zelenskyy stated that such a proposal would require approval from the Ukrainian parliament and would contradict EU leaders' warnings regarding Ukraine's territorial integrity.
Following a phone call with the American president, Zelenskyy stressed the need for a 'real peace' that is lasting and not just a pause between Russian invasions. He also called for the release of Ukrainian prisoners of war and the return of children abducted by Russia, as well as maintaining pressure on Russia through sanctions.
Zelenskyy underscored that 'all issues important to Ukraine must be discussed with Ukraine's participation, and no issue, especially territorial ones, can be decided without Ukraine.'
