Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy has expressed the need for a comprehensive peace solution in Ukraine, rather than a simple ceasefire. In a post on 'X', following talks with Donald Trump and European leaders, he stressed that any discussions on territorial issues must be held with Ukraine's presence.

Zelenskyy mentioned discussing with Trump the key aspects of the latter's talks with Vladimir Putin in Alaska. He also emphasized the importance of European and US involvement in ensuring long-term security in Ukraine.

The Ukrainian president stated that he is open to peace talks, but under conditions that would ensure the credibility and durability of peace, as well as the release of prisoners of war and the return of children abducted by Russia. Furthermore, he stressed the need to maintain pressure on Russia through sanctions.

Zelenskyy also announced that he will meet with Donald Trump in Washington on Monday to discuss in detail the prospects for resolving the conflict.
