Rafah Crossing to Open for Limited Movement

The Rafah border crossing with Egypt, the main entry point to the Gaza Strip, will open on Wednesday for limited movement of people in both directions, the Israeli government agency COGAT announced today.
The crossing had reopened in early February, after being largely closed since May 2024, the first months of the war between Israel and Hamas in Gaza.
The opening of the crossing offers some relief to Palestinians wishing to leave the Gaza Strip for medical treatment or those wishing to return.
