Humanitarian Aid Leaves Cyprus for Gaza Under Amalthea Plan

1200 tons of humanitarian aid have departed from Cyprus for Gaza to support the Palestinian people. The aid mission is part of the Cypriot Republic's Amalthea Plan.
A diplomatic source stated that the mission demonstrates the Cypriot Republic's contribution to the humanitarian field. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed in a statement the continued implementation of the Amalthea Plan to address the humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
The mission departed from Limassol Port and includes food supplies, mainly flour and baby food. It falls under the UN-2720 and UNOPS mechanism, with World Central Kitchen as the implementing partner. The cargo will be transshipped through Ashdod Port for distribution within Gaza.
The aid comes from Cyprus (700 tons), Malta (500 tons), and international humanitarian organizations. The Cypriot Republic expressed gratitude to all states and organizations participating in the effort.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs emphasized the need for increased humanitarian aid to Gaza and that Cyprus' infrastructure is available to the international community.
