CENTCOM: U.S. Strikes Against ISIS in Syria

The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) announced today that it launched five strikes in recent days against the Islamic State (ISIS) terrorist organization in Syria.
The airstrikes occurred between January 27th and February 2nd. One of them destroyed a weapons storage facility, which was hit with 50 precision-guided munitions.
Admiral Brad Cooper, head of CENTCOM, stressed that the strikes «demonstrate our continued commitment and determination to prevent the resurgence of ISIS in Syria.»
Since the end of last year, U.S. and allied forces have been conducting operations against ISIS in Syria in retaliation for the December 13th ambush in Palmyra that killed two U.S. soldiers and an interpreter.
