Second Ship Hit in Strait of Hormuz

A second ship has reportedly been hit near the Strait of Hormuz, according to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO). The vessel, sailing north of Oman and east of the Strait, was struck by an unknown projectile above the waterline.
According to the announcement, the fire initially reported in the engine room has been brought under control, and authorities are investigating the incident. This is the second incident reported today, following an earlier report of an event near Kumzar, Oman.
Earlier, the Oman Navigation Safety Service (ONA) reported that the tanker Skylight, flying the Palau flag, was attacked north of the port of Khasab. The tanker's crew, consisting of 15 Indians and 5 Iranians, was evacuated from the ship, with four reported injured.
The UKMTO pointed out that no official suspension of transit through the Strait of Hormuz has been announced. It also warned of threats in other areas, such as Bab al-Mandeb.
