Violence Escalates in Gaza After Ceasefire

Violence in the Gaza Strip escalated in April, with increased hostilities following the October 10th ceasefire, according to the UN.
Stephane Dujarric, spokesman for Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, reported a 46% increase in violent incidents during the week of April 12-18.
The Israeli military is reviewing the reports. Hamas demands an end to Israeli attacks and increased humanitarian aid.
At least 770 Palestinians have been killed since the ceasefire, according to the Hamas Health Ministry. The war began on October 7, 2023, with a Hamas attack on Israel, killing over 1,200 people. The Israeli response has killed at least 72,549 people in Gaza.
