One Dead in Drone Attack on Tanker in Gulf of Oman

One person has died following a drone attack on a tanker in the Gulf of Oman, near Muscat. The attack caused an explosion and fire on the ship.
According to the Oman Maritime Security Center, the tanker MKD VYOM, flying the flag of the Marshall Islands, was attacked by an unmanned aerial vehicle 52 nautical miles off the coast of Muscat. The ship was carrying approximately 59,463 metric tons of cargo.
The attack caused a fire and explosion in the main engine room, resulting in the death of one crew member, an Indian national.
