At least 28 people were killed in the Gaza Strip on Friday, according to civil defense officials, during Israeli military operations. The Israeli army stated that five of these deaths occurred in an airstrike on Thursday.

Civil defense spokesman Mahmoud Bassal said that five people were killed in a strike against a displaced persons tent in the al-Yarmouk market. Another five were killed in an airstrike in the Rimal district, at a school being used as a shelter.

The remaining fatalities occurred in various incidents, mainly in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, as well as in Deir al-Balah, Khan Yunis, and Rafah. At least eight people were killed while waiting for humanitarian aid.

The Israeli army reported conducting an operation in the al-Yarmouk area targeting a "significant terrorist" of the Islamic Jihad organization.

Due to restrictions imposed on the media in the Gaza Strip, the French Agency is unable to independently verify the announcements.

The war began after the Hamas attack on October 7, 2023, with Israel responding with military operations.
