Chaotic scenes unfold in Gaza City as Israeli forces advance from two fronts. Thousands of civilians are fleeing towards the coast, seeking safety from the shelling.

Israeli military spokesman Natav Shoshani stated that infantry, tanks, and artillery are moving deeper into the city, supported by airstrikes, targeting Hamas.

According to Al Jazeera correspondent Hani Mahmoud, Israeli forces are advancing from the northwest and southeast, pushing residents westward towards the coastal al-Rashid road.

Residents report continuous attacks, including airstrikes and explosions from remote-controlled vehicles.

The UN Office for Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) warned that the last safe zones in Gaza City are collapsing, accusing Israel of hindering aid efforts.

At least 40 people were killed in Gaza City on Thursday.

The United States vetoed a UN Security Council resolution calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.
