Gaza: Residents Flee City After Israeli Bombardment
Share on:

More Palestinian families have fled Gaza City following another night of Israeli bombardments in its vicinity. The bombardments, carried out by air and artillery, struck the eastern suburbs of Sabra, Shuja'iya, and Tuffah, as well as Jabalia further north.

A Gaza resident named Ismail said the bombardments were intended to frighten people into leaving their homes. The Israeli military reports its forces are operating in the area to locate weapons and destroy tunnels used by Hamas militants.

At least 34 Palestinians were killed in Israeli strikes, including 18 around Gaza City. Approximately half of Gaza's 2 million residents now live in the city, with many moving west and south.

In Israel, protesters blocked roads in Tel Aviv and other cities, demanding the release of hostages and an end to the war. A large rally is expected today outside the Israeli army headquarters.
