Gaza: 'I'd rather die in my neighborhood,' say Palestinians
Share on:

Israeli operations continue in Gaza, with airstrikes and ground forces. Israeli officials estimate that the occupation of the city will last about two months.

Palestinian residents express despair. Ahmed, a teacher, said: 'I'd rather die here, in Sabra, my neighborhood.' Hamdi Abu Tabk, a displaced person, reported that the bombings are constant and there is no safe place.

Amjad Shawa, director of the Palestinian NGO Network, warned of a humanitarian catastrophe and malnutrition. He denounced that Israel intends to destroy Gaza and displace the Palestinians.

Hundreds of thousands have taken refuge in the city, but are reluctant to move south due to dangers and food shortages.
