Hamas Rejects Calls to Disarm

The armed wing of Hamas has rejected calls to disarm, arguing that such a discussion is an attempt to continue the "genocide" of the Palestinian people if Israel does not first implement the first phase of the ceasefire in Gaza.
In a message, Hamas spokesman Abu Ubaida stressed that the issue of disarmament would not be accepted and is a major obstacle to talks on Donald Trump's plan for Gaza. The organization demands guarantees for the full withdrawal of Israel from the enclave.
Ubaida called on mediators to pressure Israel to implement its commitments in the first phase of the Trump plan before any discussion of the second phase. Hamas and Israel have repeatedly accused each other of violating the terms of the ceasefire agreement.
There has been no comment from Israel regarding these statements.
