US: $30 Million to Gaza Humanitarian Fund

The US announced the allocation of $30 million to fund the Gaza Humanitarian Fund (GHF). This move comes despite criticism of the GHF regarding its methods and neutrality.
State Department Deputy Spokesperson Tommy Pigott called on other countries to support the GHF and its work. The GHF has already distributed approximately 46 million meals.
GHF's interim executive director, John Akrei, expressed satisfaction with the US funding.
The UN and other humanitarian organizations have criticized the GHF and refuse to cooperate with it. The Ministry of Health of the Palestinian enclave has reported that approximately 550 Palestinians have been killed near aid distribution centers since the end of May.
