Iran: US Must Prevent New Strikes to Restart Talks

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister Majid Takht-Ravanchi told the BBC that diplomatic talks with the US cannot resume unless new strikes on Iran are ruled out.
Takht-Ravanchi emphasized that Iran is seeking an answer to the question of whether there will be a repetition of aggressive actions during the dialogue. He also mentioned that Tehran was informed that the US does not seek regime change in Iran by targeting Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
On June 13, Israel initiated hostilities by bombing Iran, while the US bombed three nuclear facilities on June 21-22, supporting the Israeli attack. Benjamin Netanyahu stated that he seeks to prevent Iran from acquiring a nuclear bomb.
After 12 days of bombing, a ceasefire came into effect on June 24, announced by Donald Trump, who warned of new strikes in case of uranium enrichment.
Takht-Ravanchi asserted Iran's right to enrich uranium to 60% for energy production, stressing that the level and capacity can be discussed.
