Iran Establishes National Defense Council After Clashes with Israel

Iran has announced the establishment of a national defense council to strengthen its military capabilities following recent clashes with Israel, according to state television.
The decision was made by the Supreme National Security Council. The President of the Islamic Republic will chair the National Defense Council, with the participation of senior military officials and heads of relevant ministries.
The new body's mission is to "examine defense plans" and "centrally strengthen the capabilities of the armed forces."
The announcement follows the Israel-Iran conflict in June, after an Israeli attack on Iranian targets. Iran responded with missiles and drones.
According to Iranian authorities, more than 1,000 people were killed in Iran, while Israel reported 28 deaths.
