Iran's new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, reportedly narrowly escaped an Israeli airstrike on February 28, according to an audio document obtained by the "Telegraph" newspaper.

According to the recording, Mojtaba Khamenei was outside his father's residence seconds before the attack. Mazhar Hosseini, head of protocol in the office of the late Ali Khamenei, reportedly stated that Mojtaba was in the courtyard of the complex when Israel attacked the residence at 09:32 local time.

Hosseini stated that Mojtaba Khamenei suffered only "a minor leg injury."
