Israel: Controversy over Netanyahu's Plans in Gaza
Share on:

Strong reactions have been sparked in Israel following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's announcement to expand military operations with the aim of fully occupying Gaza.

According to the Haaretz newspaper, Netanyahu is promoting the escalation of a dead-end war, bypassing the opposition of the army. It is reported that Netanyahu wants Israel to occupy the entire Gaza, provoking reactions even from the Chief of the General Staff, Lieutenant General Eyal Zamirna.

Relatives of the hostages express fears that the expansion of operations will endanger the captives. At the same time, Israel will allow the gradual and controlled entry of products into Gaza through local merchants, with the aim of increasing aid and reducing dependence on the UN.
