Israel Denies Ordering Attack on Unarmed Palestinians in Gaza
Share on:

The Israeli government has denied ordering an attack on unarmed Palestinians in Gaza. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has categorically rejected a report by the Haaretz newspaper, which stated that Israeli soldiers were ordered to shoot unarmed civilians waiting for humanitarian aid.

“The State of Israel categorically rejects these heinous accusations,” Netanyahu said in a joint statement with Defense Minister Israel Katz, calling the allegations “malicious lies.” Haaretz published a report with testimonies from soldiers who claimed they were ordered to shoot at crowds at aid distribution centers.

The Israeli military, responding to questions, admitted to opening fire in cases where it perceived a threat. An army spokesperson stated that no order was given to shoot civilians. Haaretz reported that the military advocate general has ordered an investigation into possible war crimes in cases of civilian deaths near distribution centers.
