Israel Intensifies Gaza Bombardment, Ceasefire Talks Loom

Israel is intensifying its bombardment of the northern Gaza Strip, as Israeli officials are expected in Washington for talks regarding a potential ceasefire.
Palestinian sources reported one of the worst nights of Israeli bombardments in weeks. The Israeli army had issued evacuation orders for several areas, urging residents to head south.
Israeli tanks advanced into eastern districts of the Zeitoun suburb in Gaza City and bombarded areas in the northern part. Warplanes struck at least four schools after evacuation orders were given.
At least 25 people were killed in Israeli strikes, according to health authorities.
An advisor to the Israeli Prime Minister is expected at the White House for talks on achieving a ceasefire, Iran, and potential diplomatic agreements.
