Shin Bet Says It Foiled Plot to Assassinate Ben Gvir

The Israeli Internal Security agency (Shin Bet) announced today that it thwarted a plot to assassinate National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir and arrested members of a Hamas cell.
The planned Hamas attack against the far-right minister would have involved the use of explosive drones. Members of a Hamas cell from the Hebron area in the Israeli-occupied West Bank were arrested, and drones were seized.
The Shin Bet also stated that it believes the group operated a Hamas headquarters in Turkey to carry out the assassination attempt against Ben Gvir. An investigation is underway.
Hamas, with whom Israel has been at war in the Gaza Strip for nearly two years, was not immediately available for comment. Neither has Turkey commented directly.
The Israeli far-right minister said in a statement that he would not be discouraged or intimidated. "Hamas has already tried five times to assassinate me and each time failed," he said, thanking God and the Israeli security forces.
