Israel: Plans for Annexation of West Bank Territories

Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich announced plans to annex territories in the occupied West Bank.

In a press conference in Jerusalem, Smotrich presented a map implying the annexation of most of the West Bank by Israel, excluding major Palestinian cities such as Ramallah and Nablus.

The minister stated that he seeks Israeli sovereignty over the maximum possible territory with the minimum possible Palestinian population. He also expressed doubts about the ability to defend a state with little strategic depth, emphasizing that the goal is to prevent the creation of a 'terrorist Palestinian state'.
