Israeli Tanks Advance in Gaza, Reports of Trapped Casualties

Israeli tanks are advancing deeper into residential areas of Gaza City. Local health authorities report an inability to respond to calls for help.

Witnesses report tanks have penetrated the Sabra, Tel Al-Hawa, Sheikh Radwan and Al-Naser neighborhoods.

The Gaza emergency service reported that 73 requests to rescue injured people were rejected by Israel. The Israeli army announced an expansion of operations and targeting of military targets.

At least 21 deaths were reported in various strikes, while the Gaza Ministry of Health announced that 77 people have been killed in the last 24 hours.

The World Food Programme estimates that 350,000-400,000 Palestinians have fled Gaza City.

Hamas reported that it has not received a new proposal from negotiators.

US Ambassador Mike Huckabee will visit Egypt for talks.
