Israeli Soldier Vandalizes Arafat Memorial in West Bank

An Israeli soldier was disciplined after a video surfaced showing him vandalizing a memorial dedicated to Yasser Arafat in the northern West Bank. The incident took place in the town of Zababdeh, near Jenin.
According to the Times Of Israel, the video showed the soldier repeatedly striking the monument with a sledgehammer.
The Israel Defense Forces (IDF) stated that the incident is serious and inconsistent with established procedures. The relevant brigade commander conducted an immediate investigation, and the soldier received disciplinary measures. Soldiers and commanders also underwent clarification of procedures on the matter.
