Kompos: De-escalation and diplomatic action for Israel-Iran conflict

Foreign Minister Konstantinos Kombos advocated for the immediate de-escalation of conflicts between Israel and Iran and the intensification of diplomatic action. The statement was made during the Foreign Affairs Council of the European Union in Brussels.

According to a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Kombos stressed that the European Union must take a more active role, in coordination with the efforts of the United States, the United Kingdom, France and Germany.

The Foreign Minister referred to the escalating situation in the Middle East as critical.

Furthermore, Konstantinos Kombos condemned the terrorist attack on the Holy Church of Prophet Elias in Damascus, calling it an atrocious crime by radical extremist elements targeting innocent civilians in places of worship.
