Cyprus Announces 1,200 Tons of Humanitarian Aid to Gaza via 'Amalthea Plan'

Cyprus has announced the shipment of 1,200 tons of humanitarian aid to Gaza under the 'Amalthea Plan'. The mission departed last night from Limassol Port.
The aid includes food, with a focus on infant nutrition, and comes from Cyprus (700 tons via CyprusAid), Malta (500 tons), and international humanitarian organizations based in the USA, Italy, and Kuwait. The United Arab Emirates are also contributing to the effort.
Distribution will be handled by World Central Kitchen, under the auspices of the UN. The cargo will be transshipped via Ashdod Port, without additional security checks, for immediate distribution in Gaza.
The Republic of Cyprus expressed gratitude to the states and organizations participating in the effort, emphasizing that Cyprus' infrastructure is available to the international community as a humanitarian corridor.
