Lebanon: Heavy Israeli Strikes in Beirut, Advance in the South

The Israeli army is intensifying its strikes on the southern suburbs of Beirut, while ground forces advance further into the southern border region.
An army spokesperson urged residents to evacuate three districts of the capital. Reuters reports that approximately 760,000 citizens have been displaced in the past week, following Hezbollah's involvement in the war as retaliation for the death of a senior Iranian religious leader.
Israeli attacks have resulted in the deaths of approximately 570 people. Lebanese President Michel Aoun has stated he is open to negotiations with Israel to end the war, while Hezbollah refuses to fully disarm.
The Israeli army has not confirmed the use of white phosphorus munitions in Lebanon, following a complaint by Human Rights Watch.
