A major fraud case has been uncovered in Lebanon, involving a man who posed as a Saudi prince. He allegedly promised high political positions to prominent Lebanese figures in exchange for money.

The alleged mastermind of the scam is engineer Mustafa al-Hesian, who, fluent in the Saudi dialect, impersonated a member of the royal family under the name 'Prince Abu Omar'. His accomplice was Sheikh Khaldoun Oraimet.

The two men were arrested in late 2025. According to a judicial source, approximately ten well-known individuals, including a former prime minister, former ministers, and members of parliament, were involved in the case.

The case highlights the broader political context in Lebanon, where Saudi Arabia has traditionally held significant influence.
