Middle East: Tensions Rise in the Strait of Hormuz, Erbil Targeted
Share on:

Donald Trump is pressuring allies and China to take action regarding the Strait of Hormuz, while sending 5,000 US Marines to the region. Simultaneously, Iran is targeting Erbil, with attacks on American bases and citizens in Iraq.

Trump has called on allied forces to send warships to the Strait of Hormuz, rejecting the possibility of negotiations with Tehran. A similar refusal came from Iran. According to Trump, countries such as China, France, Japan, South Korea, and the United Kingdom should contribute to the security of the area.

Meanwhile, a drone attack targeted a military base at Baghdad Airport. Additionally, Iran bombed Erbil, targeting the American consulate and the Lanaz refinery, which suspended operations. The US has warned its citizens in Iraq to leave the country.

Furthermore, the Revolutionary Guards have warned the UAE about potential attacks on American bases in the ports of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

The situation is escalating, with Israel carrying out attacks in Lebanon, where 10 people were killed, and rejecting the possibility of starting talks with Iran.
